Arous El Bahre hotel. Paid 125E£ after negotiating
a rate for 90E£, the receptionist apparently made a mistake!
Rooms are nice and the view excellent, too bad about the bait and
switch tactic. The hotel next door would have cost 90E£ for
pretty seedy rooms! |

One of the only camping spots near Cairo. Another one nearby is
being renovated (2006). This one is very pricey by Egyptian standards
(25E£/person). The proprietor is a very friendly and extremely
interesting man Mr. Saïd Moussa. He is very helpful with any
problems or questions regarding Egypt, and well worth a conversation
or two. Beware the mosquitoes and ants who like to eat through tents. |

Eden
Garden Camp The best value for money in Egypt. The proprietor
is very friendly and helpful. The food plentiful and good, and the
ambient wonderful. Probably the best place we found to relax and catch
your breath in Egypt. |

An excellent wild camping spot on top of a white
limestone hill. Great view over the rock formation at the entrance
of the park, and nice and quiet at night. |

The camping spot here was so dreary and it was
so hot that for nearly the same price we got a small "cabin"
with an electric fan. Dinner in the restaurant is better skipped,
breakfast was very good though! |

Rezeiky
Camp, a very nice relaxing spot from which one can get to major
sites in Luxor on foot. They even have a pool! (the picture is unfortunately
out of focus, sorry!). The manager Tony and his cousin can take care
of any problems you might have. |
